Halocarbon Hires H. Carl Walther as Technical Services Manager

31-year veteran spent 18 years with Krytox™ Performance Lubricants

ATLANTA – August 2, 2016 – Halocarbon, a leading worldwide producer of specialty fluorochemicals, inert lubricants and inhalation anesthetics, today announced that H. Carl Walther has joined the company as Manager, Technical Services/Support.

Walther brings 31 years of technical service, R&D, customer training and production experience to the position. He comes to Halocarbon after 18 years with DuPont™ Krytox® Performance Lubricants – the Krytox™ business was recently spun off in the Chemours group of businesses last year.

Walther’s primary responsibility will be to play a customer-facing technical role, supporting the growth of Halocarbon’s Inert Lubricants business. Based in Halocarbon’s South Carolina facility, he will focus on applications and ensure a synergistic fit between customer needs and Halocarbon’s products and capabilities.

“Carl Walther is a strategic addition to the Halocarbon team,” said David Bacon, CEO of Halocarbon. “He will help translate the technical features and chemistry of our products into value propositions for our customers and potential customers. His expertise will touch everything from quality control to innovating new products.”

Prior to joining Halocarbon, Walther’s most recent focus at DuPont was on R&D and partnering with OEMs on application and product development programs. His work on designing and formulating specialty lubricants to meet the tribological demands of new and innovative mechanical systems led to breakthroughs in a variety of industries, including the paper, automotive, general industrial, power generation, military and commercial aviation industries. Walther also held responsibility for production quality control and improvement, technical services and laboratory capabilities. He played a key role in DuPont’s expansion of technical services globally.

Prior to his career at DuPont, Walther held various product-engineering positions within Conoco’s Lubricants and Specialty Products division.

Walther, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, has authored numerous technical articles and educational presentations.
